Emily Irene VanCamp who initially wanted to become professional dancer, became interested in acting when she visited her sister Katie on the set of the movie Ladies Room. Her acting career began when she started taking classes. In addition, she was offered guest spots on shows from her home country of Canada. She starred as a guest on several shows in Are You Fearful Of the Dark? Radio Active. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career when he was cast in the WB horror-mystery show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. Even even though the show received great reviews, it unfortunately had to be pulled after just nine episodes because of its low ratings. The 12th of May, 1986 actress quickly secured another part in Everwood. The character she plays Amy Abbott is one of the main characters. Her performance resulted in her being nominated for an Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
